Instant pot Vegan Mohinga Soup

Some Major Asian cuisines include Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian, each cuisine has its own cooking styles.

Burma or Myanmar cuisine is a fusion of various Southeast Asian cuisine, Chinese and Indian influence.

Burmese foods have strong pungent flavors, they are not sweet, or sour,  or spicy like their neighboring counties.

Atho, Mohinga, Ngapi, Tea leaf salad are some of Myanmar cuisines must-try foods.

In this post, I am sharing my first Burmese recipe Mohinga soup.

Mohinga soup is a fish-based soup.

My recipe is made 1oo% plant-based.

To make this recipe I’m using an Instant Pot

You can make this recipe in a pressure cooker or cook directly on stovetop / Range.

This is a simple, easy, flavorful, healthy vegan, gluten-free, and oil-less recipe usually served with Atho noodles.

This recipe is full of fiber and protein making it very nutritious.

** For those who live in cities where you can’t get banana stem

Substitute with Bamboo shoots or bamboo sprouts.

Chickpea flour helps in binding all ingredients together.

If you don’t have chickpea flour you can use rice flour.

*Taste may differ if using rice flour*
