Rich and tasty Dry fruit stuffed Puran Poli a must-try recipe.

Holige / Obattu / Puran Poli is an Indian sweet flatbread.

Poli, usually prepared during the festive season.

There are many varieties of poli and each one is unique and delicious.

Usually, Poli / holige / Obattu is made with all-purpose flour.

In this video I have used whole wheat flour, this recipe works well with All-purpose flour.

Traditionally Poli made in south India during Bhogi , In Andra Puran poli is made on Ugadi day.

Tips to make poli

Knead the dough for at least 10 minutes, dough should be soft and smooth.

Poli /Obattu /Holige dough should be soaked in oil for at least 2 hours.

if using All-purpose flour rest dough for a minimum of 4 hours

Use Rice flour to roll Poli

Store Poli in an airtight container and refrigerate

Heat Poli and apply ghee before serving

You can use any nuts of your choice

Substitute date syrup with dates/dates powder

Substitute Khoya with Milk powder / Almond meal

Cardamom, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Rose essence can be used.
