Soya chunks Salna | Chalna is a unique and tasty curry served along with parotta in south India.
Each region makes this curry with different spices and all taste delicious.
You can add vegetables or any other protein of your choice.
Empty salna is made with onion, tomato, roasted spices and finishing off with a richness of coconut milk.
Parotta salna is a famous south Indian street food.
This flavourful salna taste great not just with parotta but also with roti, idli, dosa, and biryani
In this recipe, I have used Soya chunks / Meal maker to make this flavorful gravy.
Hot flaky layered parotta served with soya chunks salna and onion raita is a perfect combination for both lunch and dinner.
What is a Soya chunks / Meal maker?
Soya chunks are from soybean flour.
These are excellent alternatives of protein to animal-based products such as dairy and meat products.
Soak soya chunks in hot water for 15 minutes before adding to the gravy.
Another way is to simply soak soya chunks in room temperature water overnight and use them in gravies.
