If you have excess amount of fresh garlic either homegrown, or stocked up then you should make your own garlic powder. This is our favorite way to preserve garlic. Mix garlic powder with some salt and dehydrated herbs to make your own garlic salt with herbs or mix in some coarse ground black pepper to make a garlic black pepper seasoning to flavor your food. You can oven roast garlic for more flavorful roasted garlic powder, or sun dry them if you live in a hot place, both has unique flavor in finished product.
